A HALASI CSIPKE EGYEDÜLÁLLÓ A VILÁGON
A halasi csipkét az különbözteti meg minden más híres csipkétől, hogy kizárólag kézzel varrott. Ez, és öltéseinek gazdagsága egyedülállóvá teszi a világon. A halasi Csipkeházban nyolcvan féle öltéstechnika mintája látható. A csipkevarráshoz hasznlált tű olyan finom, hogy nem látni, hanem inkább csak érezni lehet. Az erőteljes mintarajz vonalán, megszakítás nélkül, vezetik végig az alapszálat, amelyet huroköltésekkel fognak le. A mintarajz szállal történő befedése után különböző öltéstechnikákkal bestoppolják a kimaradt részeket, amelyek így plasztikusan kiadják a tervezett alakot.
A halasi csipkét - egyediségét, utánozhatatlanságát elismerve - 1935-ben védjegyezték. Azóta még a legkisebb (2,5 cm - 1 inch) Halason készült csipkében is megtalálható a három egymáson keresztbe fektetett hal, amelyek elhelyezkedése is pontosan meghatározott.
A Halasi Csipkét ma is a régi rajzok alapján, az eredeti motívumok felhasználásával, természetes alapanyagú, lehelet-finom cérnával, száz százalékos kézimunkával valamint a hagyományos 60-80 féle öltésminta változattal varrják a halasi csipkevarrók, akik a Halasi Csipke Közalapítvány dolgozóiként mindezt nem szórakozásból, hanem a megélhetésükért teszik.

WHY IS THE NEEDLE LACE OF KISKUNHALAS UNIQUE
The world-famous Halas Lace is a 100% hand-made needle-lace. The delicacy of the fine thin-like-breath linen thread, and the effect created by the wide variety of stitches used between the strong contour lines of the motifs make the Halas Lace unique.
Preparation of the Halas Lace is incredibly labour intensive. The lace is sewn by extra thin twisted linen thread with needles so delicate, that they are more felt than seen. The value of the Halas Lace per gram competes with the price of gold. The design is outlined by an unbroken contour thread, which holds the lace together. After this the motifs are sewn in by a number of the 60 different stitches generally used. The preparation of the Halas Lace is similar in technology to the Venetian lace, but this latter one uses thicker threads and a lesser variety of stitches.
It is astonishing how long it takes to make a hand-sewn Needle Lace of Halas. For example, the "Julianna Cloth," weighing only 34 grams(1.2 ounce), required 3,900 hours to complete.
By 1935 the uniqueness and inimitability of the Halas Needle-Lace was worldwide recognized and its registration took place. Since that time the trademark of three fishes laid across one another are part of even the smallest pieces (2,5 cm - 1 inch) of the magical Halas Lace.
